Sara began working at Strauss & Hoyt, LLC in November 2023 as partner.

Sara is an accomplished family law attorney with over two decades of experience. She has extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of family and matrimonial law, including custody and allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time, maintenance, child support, financial issues and post decree actions. Sara is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, and the Association of Women Attorneys of Lake County.

Sara graduated with high honors from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Psychology in 1995. Throughout her undergraduate career, Sara was affiliated with Sigma Delta Tau, a national sorority committed to empowering women. She achieved Order of Omega for her outstanding leadership and academic performance, as well as granted Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Sara obtained her Juris Doctor from Illinois Institute of Technology – Kent College of Law in 2001. She was admitted to practice in Illinois in 2001, the Northern District of Illinois in 2001 and the United States Supreme Court in 2011.

Prior to joining Strauss & Hoyt, LLC, Sara was a partner at both Strategic Divorce and Riewer & Collins, LLC. She also served as a family law attorney at Matthew Kaplan & Associates and Denis M. Gravel & Associates, P.C.
